Here are a few announcements for this week:

PTO Program - "Cyber Bullying, What Parents Need to Know" - Thursday May 7th.

The school play in this Friday (5/8).  If your child hasn't already paid please do so by this Thursday. The cost is $2.

Dinner Theater, Friday, May 8th, 6:30 p.m. in the Cafetorium: Tickets are on sale in the office for $15 each.

Huntsville Space and Rocket Center Field Trip- Monday May 11th:

Field Day for 1st Grade - 6th Grade: Tuesday May 12th 1:00 p.m. till 2:30 p.m.

Spring Band Concert: Tuesday May 12th

Elementary Honors Assembly 1st Grade-5th Grade: Wednesday May 13th at 9:00 a.m. in Cafetorium.

6th Grade Graduation:
Graduation invitations were sent home with your graduate today. We are also beginning to practice for the ceremony. We are learning our Class Song and parts will be assigned. Please help your child learn the song and their part.

6th Grade Graduation: Thursday May 21st at 9:00 a.m. in the Cafetorium.

April 27-May1

I hope you had a great weekend!! We only have a few more weeks left so please help me in encouraging them to continue to do their very best.  Also, quite a few of my homeroom students are out of paper and supplies.  Please ask them what they need so they can continue to be prepared for class. 
Here are a few announcements for this week:

The school play will be May 8th and the cost is $2.00 per student. Many students in my homeroom have already paid. Thank you!

6th Grade Graduation:
Each parent should have received a letter regarding our 6th grade graduation. Although graduation is not until May 21st, we are busy preparing for this exciting event. A letter was sent out asking for specific information. This information should have been returned by April 10th. We still have no information on many of our students. It is critical that it be turned in immediately. We want this to be something you can all be proud to be a part of and that cannot be done without your information.


6th Grade Graduation: Thursday May 21st at 9:00 a.m. in the Cafetorium.  Invitations were given out today.  Each student should have 4.

April 13-17

I hope that everyone had a great weekend!

We are still collecting cans for the recycling week.

The dinner theatre date has been changed to May 8th at  6:30.  The cost is $15 per person for the dinner and the play.  Our students have been invited to attend the play that morning at 10:00am.  The cost for our student is $2 per person.  You can send in the money anytime before that date.

March 30 - April 4

I hope everyone had a GREAT Spring Break!! We are on the down hill slide of this year and I cannot believe it has gone by so quickly!
 Here are a few announcements for this week:

-Please continue saving your can and help the sixth grade win the recycling contest!!

The SGA is holding a fundraiser for the Troy Animal Rescue Project.  They are collecting items and/or money to help care for unwanted and abused animals.  They need most anything, towels, blankets, linens (can be old), toys, puppy pads, litter boxes, litter, water hoses, puppy or kitty food, dog or cat food, dog shampoo, nail clippers, etc.  Bring any items or money to me by April 10.  THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

-Tonight is PLAS Spirit Night at Santa Fe Steakhouse from 5pm until 9pm. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Pike Liberal Arts School. You can feed your family and help the school at the same time. A flyer is going home in their communication folder today.

- I will not be at school on Thursday... I am taking my son to his Easter party.

- Friday, April 3 is a school holiday (Good Friday)

- Monday, April 6 is our Easter Holiday. No school - enjoy the long weekend!!

- Tuesday, April 7 is our field trip to the McWane Center.

- Friday, April 10- school will dismiss at 11:50.

I hope everyone had a great weekend!! 

Here are some announcements for this week and upcoming weeks:

The 5th grade will be having a bake sale on Thursday, March 12th to raise money to honor local heroes through Liberty's Legacy program. All items will be $1. Please support this awesome cause.

If you have a child who will be coming next school term, come by the office and pick up an application.

School will be dismissed at 11:50 on Friday, March 13th for the Jonah McWaters Tournament.
Yearbooks are now on sale and will be until March 13.  The cost is $50 and no extras will be ordered.
I still have a few students that have not made their A.R. goals. A.R. end MARCH 13th please help me encourage them to reach their goals.  

SAT TEST - March 16th-19th: 
Students should be finished with testing by 12:30 p.m. each day. Please schedule any appointments after this time. Please encourage your child to do their best.

I hope everyone had a great weekend!!

I have 8 students that have already made their A.R. goal!! Please talk with your student about their goal and continue to encourage them to reach their goal.  A.R. ends for this 9 weeks March 13th.

We will dismiss at 11:50am March 13th due to the Jonah McWaters Tournament.

Thank you for all the support with the field trips.  There are still some spots available on the Huntsville field trip.  Please let us know if you would like to go.

I hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend!! I am so sorry I did not get to update my blog yesterday. My computer has acting crazy and was showing signs of a virus.  We hope to have it fixed now.

The first payment for the McWane Center field trip is due no later than tomorrow.  

The $10 deposit is due Friday for the Huntsville field trip.

SGA is selling Cookie Dough, please place an order before Feb. 11th.

Our Valentine Party is on Thursday.  Here is a list of the following items that are needed or someone has volunteered for:

I hope everyone had a great weekend and a great start to this week.  Here are a few announcements for this week and upcoming weeks:

There will be booklets sent home last week that are a way we can earn money for our school. It's very simple! You just fill out the booklets and return to school by Feb. 4th. Each completed booklet returned will earn our school $5.50. The booklets will be put in a drawing for a $100,000 playground for the school, $10,000 for the student's family, or $5,000 for the student's classroom.  We appreciate your participation with this!

There was a letter that went home Friday about our field trip on April 7th.  Please let me know if your child will not be attending.  Please see the note about payments and other info.

After talking to my homeroom, we have decided instead of the usual party food they want an ice cream party for Valentines Day. The party will be Thursday (2/12) They can bring candy/cards to exchange if they would like they just have to have one for very student.  They can also bring a gift bag to decorate for the party for their goodies.

I hope everyone had a great weekend!! Thank you to everyone that chaperoned for you movie field trip! We had so much fun!! 

 Here are a few announcements for this week:


Softball Fundraiser Lock-in: Last day to sign up for Lock-In for grades 1-6 was

Friday.  See Coach Park if you need a form.

  
Spring Softball Clinic: Saturday Feb. 7th for girls K-6. See Coach Park if you would like to register.

Starting January 23rd the Excel Club will be having a shoe drive for Solefood Ministries to give shoes to children in need in other countries.  We will be accepting new or slightly used shoes you have outgrown or don’t need.  We will be collecting until Friday, Feb. 27th.

We will begin our kick off for the Children's Hospital this week. They are having a King and Queen Contest:  Students in K4-6th grade will be participating.  This is January 22-February 12th.  The boy that collects the most money will be crowned King and the girl that collects the most will be crowned Queen in Feb.  This is a big fund raiser for Children’s Hospital and is a very worthy cause.  You may collect pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters or dollars.  Please have fun and help this worthy cause! 

The BOOKFAIR starts today in the library.

January 12-16

I hope everyone had a great weekend!!

Here are a few announcements for this week:

The can food drive will end Friday. Everyone has been asked to bring 10 cans.  If PLAS reaches the  5,000 can goal Ms. Baggett will have to kiss a goat!!

Wednesday is the Elementary Honor Society induction at 2pm in the cafeteria. Parents are invited to attend the ceremony. They will have regular P.E. so if they would like to bring something to change into for the ceremony that will be fine.  

There are a few notes going home about upcoming events at school in your child's folder. Please make sure you check it. 

I have been working on the 6th grade graduation slide show.  If you have any group pictures K4-6th grade please email them to me at ashes1412@yahoo.com  I have gotten some really cute ones so far. We will be sending out more info on graduation in the next few weeks.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas break!! I know my family and I did!! I would like to take this time to thank everyone that gave me a Christmas gift.  I was overwhelmed by the love and appreciation shown to me.  I got so many amazing and unique gifts.  It is such an honor and joy to teach these children.  Thank you for giving me this opportunity!!!

Here are a few announcements for this week:

The 9 weeks has been rescheduled for Monday, January 12th at 9:00.  All parents are invited to attend. Students are asked to stay at school after the program.

The PLAS deer hunt is this weekend.  Everyone has been asked to send in $10 to help with the deer hunt.  Please send this in ASAP.
