January 20-24

I hope everyone had a great weekend and Martin Luther King day.  Here are a few announcements for this week:

Thank you all so much for helping the SGA in collecting canned food items.  We finished with 3797 total items!!!

 - The SGA is asking all students to participate in selling cookie dough!!

 - Anyone interested in trying out for JV or Varsity cheerleader must sign up on the sheets outside Mrs. Sikes’s door. The sheets will be available until Friday, January 24.  Candidates for cheerleader must attend a mandatory meeting with a parent on Monday, Jan. 27th at 5:30 p.m. in the cafetorium.  Clinic and tryouts will be held from Friday, Feb. 7th until Friday, Feb. 14th.

Congratulations to the JV Girls Basketball Team on finishing 4th at the State Tournament.  The girls beat Ft. Dale 36-29, and lost to Lee-Scott 26-21 in the semi-final.  Congratulations to Susie Stell who made the All Tournament Team.

- If you would like to order a red spirit jersey please let Taylor Jinright know.  The cost is $50.

-Coach Austin and Coach Park set February 1st for BB/SB Clean-up workday. We did consider that basketball will still be in-season. However, we also wanted to allow 2 weeks in case February 1st rains us out, we will still have another week before our first games begin. We will be putting our list together of what we need to accomplish, and I will send that out as soon as we get that finished.

-Coach Allie Park and the Patriot Softball teams are hosting a spring softball clinic Saturday February 15th  from 9 AM - noon. Please pass it along if you know anyone who may be interested in attending. This is a great opportunity for the Pike Softball programs to continue to develop our K-6th grade athletes and give them the tools they need for success. It will also allow our young players to get an understanding of fundamental skills in hitting, throwing, catching, fielding, and base running.

Registration forms need to be turned in to Coach Park by Friday, February 7th

If you have any questions please feel free to email me! Thanks and have a great rest of the week!!
